I believe that yoga should be accessible to everyone, which is why my classes are only $10 per class (e-transfer or cash) and $11 per class via PayPal. No matter where you are on your journey, you are welcome here.

We’re excited to announce our ongoing yoga classes at Awakened Yoga starting Monday, November 25th. To make these classes more accessible, we’ve kept the price incredibly affordable.

  • When: Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 AM

Why I Love Yoga: A Journey of Healing, Growth, and Alignment

I want to share a personal story about my journey with yoga—a journey that has profoundly transformed my life.

When I began this path 10 months ago, I thought yoga was just about physical poses and staying healthy. Inspired by seeing my mom struggle with chronic pain from sciatica, I knew I wanted to care for my body to avoid similar challenges as I aged. Little did I know, yoga would become so much more than a physical practice—it would become the missing piece in my holistic and spiritual life.

I discovered that yoga aligns beautifully with my existing beliefs and practices. The 8 Limbs of Yoga taught me to embody mindfulness and presence in every moment. These eight limbs are:

  1. Yamas – Ethical practices

  2. Niyamas – Self-discipline

  3. Asana – Physical postures

  4. Pranayama – Breath control

  5. Pratyahara – Withdrawal of the senses

  6. Dharana – Concentration

  7. Dhyana – Meditation

  8. Samadhi – Enlightenment or bliss

As someone who has spent over 20 years offering Reiki, hypnosis, and reflexology to balance body, mind, and spirit, yoga felt like the natural next step. It deepened my connection to my breath, body, mind, and spirit, teaching me to embody presence in ways I hadn’t before.

Meet Your Guides: A Sisterhood in Service to the Community

Hi, I’m Natalia, and I’m so excited to introduce you to my dear friend and teaching partner, Pashana Kay. We’ve shared a beautiful connection for over 15 years—she’s been a spiritual mama bear, a guiding light, and a true soul sister in my life. I’m incredibly grateful to be on this journey with her, holding space for our community to grow, heal, and thrive.

Our yoga classes are a reflection of this deep bond and shared purpose. Here’s what to expect:

  • Pashana opens each session with a calming 10-minute practice, guiding you through grounding intentions, soothing breathwork, and uplifting affirmations to center your mind, awaken your heart, and set the tone for a transformative experience.

  • From there, I lead you through a one-hour Hatha Yoga practice, blending mindful movement, strength-building, and flow into a journey that is both deeply relaxing and empowering. P.S. I've earned the nickname Warrior Queen—your legs will thank (or challenge) you later!

Our classes are designed for everyone—all ages, all body types, and all levels of experience. We’ve had students as young as 18 and as seasoned as 80 join us, and every single one brings something beautiful to our shared practice.

No matter where you’re starting from, this is a space where you can move at your own pace, honour your body, and feel fully supported. We’re here to guide you on a journey of self-discovery and connection—one breath, one pose, and one moment at a time.

Pashana Kay

With over 40 years of experience in personal growth and wellness, Pashana Kay is a seasoned mentor who blends profound wisdom with heartfelt compassion. As a loving mother of six, she embodies the balance of strength and nurturing, bringing a grounded and supportive presence to every yoga class.

Pashana’s approach is more than just teaching—it’s about creating a space where you feel safe, empowered, and truly at home on your yoga mat. Her guidance inspires students to connect deeply with themselves, embrace their unique journey, and discover the limitless potential within.

Natalia Love Angelou

A proud mother of four and a dedicated Niagara community leader for over 20 years, Natalia Love Angelou brings warmth and authenticity to everything she does. Currently completing her Yoga Teacher Training certification this December, Natalia’s own health journey has inspired her passion for yoga as a powerful tool for healing, wellness, and transformation.

With a focus on making yoga accessible to all, Natalia creates a welcoming space where students of every age and ability can connect with their bodies, calm their minds, and nurture their spirits.

A Journey to Health and Self-Love

For the past three years, I’ve been on a transformative health journey. With the support of a dietitian and therapist, I’ve learned to end the cycle of diet culture, embrace intuitive eating, and heal my relationship with food. Therapy introduced me to Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helped me understand and release old patterns, including emotional eating.

Through this journey, I’ve released 80 pounds of excess fat—not because I was chasing a number on a scale, but as a byproduct of truly listening to and honouring my body. This wasn’t about appearance (I’ve always loved myself at every size) but about reclaiming my health.

Yoga has been the cornerstone of this transformation. It’s strengthened my body, improved my flexibility, and brought me a profound sense of peace and balance. I no longer experience sleep apnea, knee pain, or back pain. Yoga has helped me step into a healthier, more joyful version of myself—and I want to share this gift with you.

Here’s a glimpse of my 3-year journey toward optimal health—proof that transformation is possible! The best part? I’m still growing stronger and healthier every day. This is the only place on my website where I’m sharing this level of vulnerability. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to include before or after pics, but yoga has played a huge role in my healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It's not about the numbers, but about the growth and deepening into myself.
